Please share safe ideas of cutting peak prices during and probably after the Russian invasion of Ukrayini. You can save cost and you can save energy for the society!
Fast actions to cut energy cost
- Lower you indoor temperature.
- Take shorter showers.
- Do NOT pre-wash the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.
- Try to reduce the need for air conditioning by airing when it is cooler outside.
- Lower the temperature in rooms that only are occupied for short times.
- If you are on a tariff, increase the temperature of our heater och decrease temperature of your ac during off peak price.
Alternatives to reduce electricity use to heat
- LPG heater.
- wood stove.
- cover windows.
- Installing pellet stove.
- if you have heat pump you can switch electric contract.
- Close a room you are not using.
- order solar roof.
- reduce temperature when you are away from home for a longer period.
Environmental impact
Due to the efficiency of production of electricity with fossil fuel it is a better to burn the fuel at home for heating instead of electric heater. For efficient heat pumps with COP above 2,5 it's equal to burning the fuel by your self.
